Luton Town have signed former Colchester United midfielder George Moncur from League One rivals Barnsley.
Moncur, who's the son of ex-West Ham midfielder John Moncur, has signed a two-and-a-half year contract at Kenilworth Road.
Luton have paid Barnsley an undisclosed fee.
The Hatters decided to sanction a move for the 25-year-old - despite the fact that they're still looking for a new manager following the departure of Nathan Jones to Stoke.
“George is a player who’s been on our radar for a long time. When he was at Colchester he was on our radar, but he went north to Barnsley, and we monitored him," Interim manager Mick Harford said.
"Now he’s become available we thought it was an opportunity we couldn’t miss to bring him on board."
Meanwhile, Ipswich Town defender Janoi Donacien has returned to former club Accrington Stanley on loan for the rest of the season.
Donacien only joined Town from Accrington in the summer, but has now been allowed to move back to the League One club on a temporary basis after falling out of favour under new boss Paul Lambert.
Elsewhere, Southend United have signed Fulham striker striker Stephen Humphrys, and in League Two, Stevenage's Johnny Goddard has joined Aldershot Town on a permanent deal.
