Ed Sheeran: Suffolk singer surprises primary school with Lego donation

It's no secret that Suffolk singer songwriter Ed Sheeran loves Lego - he even sang about a Lego House in a chart-topping hit back in 2011.

Now, he's donated hundreds of pounds worth of the plastic playbricks to Laxfield Primary School in Suffolk after a teaching assistant bumped into him in a local pub.

Ria passed over a little note asking him and his partner Cherry to be presidents of their new after school club.

About two days later I had an email through saying ' Sorry Ed can't make it, Cherry can't make it , they are really, really busy, but can we send you something?' I thought nothing more of it until about a week later when a delivery driver turned up with a huge box.

I thought: 'I wonder what this is?'

I opened it up and lo and behold there's a little note in there saying: 'Hi Ria, hope the children love the lego love from Ed and Cherry.'

Laxfield Primary has children from lots of different backgrounds and some can't afford the Danish building bricks.

So the school is renting them the new "Sheeran" sets so they can enjoy them too.
