A man has been jailed for growing £45,000 worth of cannabis in his Peterborough home.

On 25 July, police found cannabis drying and hanging from Glodiann Celia's ceiling. They also found a carrier bag of cannabis buds in his kitchen. In total, 55 cannabis plants were seized from Celia's home.

22-year-old Celia was found hiding in the loft. He told the police he had been guarding the cannabis for seven days, because he wanted to clear his fathers €5000 debt. Celia claims he had no intention of using or selling the drugs.

"Celia was producing a substantial amount of cannabis at his home but thanks to information received from a member of the public he has been brought to justice. Anyone who suspects illegal drug activity in their area should not hesitate to call police.”

Celia pleaded guilty to production and possession of cannabis with intent to supply, On 8 Februrary, he was sentenced to 42 months in prison.
