A former footballer who lost both legs in a hit and run crash in Newmarket has a new coaching job with Ipswich Town's academy.

Shaun Whiter is coaching the under 13s at Playford Road and hopes to use the opportunity to pass on his love of the game.

The former Newmarket Town player, who also played for Soham, was severely injured in a hit and run crash as he was changing a tyre beside the road in 2016.

He's been determined to bounce back since, and completed a 150 mile charity bike ride with players from Ipswich Town.

Shaun can no longer play football but is keen to help young players develop.

He's also working towards his coaching qualifications.
