Norfolk race track to host first women’s motocross race

  • Video report by ITV News Anglia's Andy Ward

A race track in Norfolk will host its first ever women’s motocross race since events started back in 1936.

Cadders Hill Motocross Circuit will make history on Sunday when the ladies support class will showcase the fastest females in action.

The UK’s top riders will head to Lyng for the second round of the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship.

The day will mark a milestone for the track site which has been welcomed by 17-year-old competitor Kathryn Booth from Spalding.

She said: "I've never really had the chance to race a ACU British women's race so it totally different to what I'm used to but we'll just give it our best."

Now to have a women’s race here, when you consider that motocross has been held at Lyng for over 80 years and this will be the first time we will have a women’s race - this is a bit of history.
