South Northamptonshire MP Andrea Leadsom has revealed she is backing Boris Johnson to be the next prime minister.
Brexiteer Mrs Leadsom was herself hoping to become the new leader of the Conservatives, but was eliminated from the race after she failed to gain enough votes to progress through the first ballot.
In an interview with LBC on Tuesday morning, she confirmed that she will be supporting Boris Johnson in the contest and said that he is the "best placed to get us out of the EU at the end of October."
Mr Johnson is due to take part in a TV debate with the rest of the contenders on BBC tonight.
West Suffolk MP Matt Hancock also backed his leadership bid on Monday - further strengthening his status as the overwhelming favourite.
