Police name woman killed in Peterborough stand-off as Ligita Kostiajeviene

A woman who died following an armed siege at a house in Peterborough has been named by police.

Ligita Kostiajeviene, 42, died of severe head injuries at Cromwell Road on Tuesday morning.

Another woman and a nine-year-old boy also suffered stab injuries following the violence.

The woman, who is in her 30s, has since been discharged, but the boy is still being treated in hospital.

Andriejus Kostiajevas, 46, of Cromwell Road, appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Friday charged with murder, attempted murder, assault causing grievous bodily harm and assault on an emergency worker.

He is due to appear at Cambridge Crown Court on August 16.

Mrs Kostiajeviene, how has an adult daughter, has been described by her family as a "loving and caring mother".
