Ipswich Town have agreed a fee with Colchester United to sign full-back Kane Vincent-Young.

The 23-year-old spent time on trial with Ipswich last summer when Paul Hurst was in charge, but wasn't offered a deal.

However, current manager Paul Lambert has now moved to finally bring him to Portman Road after the two clubs settled on a fee believed to be in the region of £500,000.

Vincent-Young came through the academy at Tottenham Hotspur and can play on either flank.

"Robbie (Cowling) phoned me last night and said that a fee had been agreed with Ipswich, and that Kane and his representatives were given permission to speak to them," Colchester boss John McGreal said.

"I believe they have been over there this morning discussing it, and that's as much as I know at this point."
