Ryanair has lost a High Court bid in London to block strikes by its UK pilots.
British Airline Pilots Association members will stage a series of strikes after voting in favour of industrial action in a dispute over pay and conditions.
They will walk out from midnight on Thursday for 48 hours.
A second round of dates has also been pencilled in for September.
Ryanair has its main UK base at Stansted, although this is just one airport where strike action will take place.
Earlier in the day, Ryanair had won a similar legal move in Ireland to prevent pilots there going on strike.
