Elderly woman suffers broken arm in Kettering handbag robbery

A 79-year-old woman has suffered a broken arm after a man stole her handbag in Kettering.

The woman was walking along St Theresa’s Close on Sunday afternoon when a man ran towards her.

He then snatched her handbag and left her lying on the ground.

The elderly woman was hurt in the attack and is now nursing a broken arm.

Two 31-year-old men were arrested in connection with the incident and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

“Many people will be shocked by the CCTV footage we have released today and rightly so," DC Bates from Northamptonshire Police said.

"This lady, like everyone else, should be able to go about her business and feel safe. Her attacker has taken that feeling of safety away from her and it is imperative that he is identified and brought to justice.
