People in Ipswich have been dressing up as biscuits to mark a new baking competition.

The hunt for the 'Ipswich Biscuit' has been launched by the Pacitti Company to encourage people to bake a recipe that represents the town and what it means to them.

Organisers are asking people to use their individual stories as the motivation behind their recipes.

Jan Parry, Mayor of Ipswich said: “The thing about this project is that everybody can become involved. We’ve got lots of different cultures and ideas coming together so it’s a good thing to support.”

The deadline to submit recipes onto the 'Ipswich Biscuit' website is November 5 and judging will take place in December. The winning bake will be awarded a £100 cash prize.

"There is a kind of bake-off element to this but the key element is that it's about pride of place. We want to know why their recipe is the Ipswich Biscuit. It could be based on a memory from here, your journey, an organisation, your family story - and you can submit as many times as you want."
