Norfolk film about a car named Sylvia put forward for Oscar consideration

A couple from Norfolk behind a much-awarded short film have entered it for an Academy Award.

Rachel and Richard Prendergast have received critical acclaim for Sylvia, the story of a woman from Kentucky who was forced to sell a much-loved car after losing her family in a house fire.

The Prendergasts, who live in Old Catton, filmed most of the film in their home county with a budget of just £10,000.

Much of the film was shot on the Acle Straight in Norfolk Credit: SubMotion Productions.
