For the first time in almost 45 years, Colchester United have reached the quarter-final of the Carabao EFL Cup.

Fans were elated as the team matched their best run ever. The side beat Crawley Town 3-1 in their fourth round tie at The People's Pensions Stadium.

The home side took the lead after 20 minutes through Dannie Bulman. Thanks to Luke Norris, Colchester pulled level just four minutes later. In the second half, an own goal by Michael Luyambula and a strike from Luke Gambin ensured Colchester's place in the final eight.

Colchester will find out who they're playing in the quarter-final on 31 October - it could well be one of the remaining Premier League sides.
