Questions over student votes and polling stations as preparation begins for December election

Returning officers have begun searching for suitable venues as preparations begin for the 2019 General Election.

It will be held on December 12, which has raised concerns about whether venues usually used for polling will be booked up for Christmas events.

The availability of students to vote in their university towns has also been questioned - with many institutions having broken up by then.
