MK Dons part company with manager Paul Tisdale after Tranmere defeat

MK Dons have parted company with manager Paul Tisdale.

The club say the decision was made by "mutual consent" after the Dons slipped to an eighth defeat from nine League One games with a 3-1 loss against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.

Tisdale led the Dons to promotion from League Two last season, but they currently find themselves in the relegation zone in League One following a desperate run of form.

Coaches Matt Oakley, Danny Butterfield and Mel Gwinnett have also left.

“I’d like to place on record my appreciation of what Paul was able to achieve for us, winning promotion from Sky Bet League Two at the first attempt and leaving us in a better position than when he found it," chairman Pete Winkelman said.

A statement on the club website added: "The club would like to thank Paul, Matt, Danny and Mel for their dedication, commitment and tireless work ethic. They brought success back to Stadium MK in 2018/19 and, for that, the club will always be grateful. Everyone at MK Dons wishes them every success in the future."
