A factory in Bedfordshire which went up in flame last week was not deliberately started, according to the county's fire service.

They were called to the Twinwoods Business Park in Milton Earnest at around 12.35pm, where the polystyrene factory was completely engulfed in flames.

In total it took over 60 firefighters to extinguish the fire, which left three buildings were completely destroyed.

Investigations are now underway, and Bedfordshire Fire Service have ruled out any malicious intent.

Group Commander Andy Draper said: “The fire has now been completely extinguished and we visited the site this morning to start the fire investigation process.

"We do not believe the first has been started deliberately and will now be carrying out further investigations, working both with the insurers and the companies affected.

“The business park has now been completely re-opened along with the surrounding roads, and I’d like to thank the public for their patience during this protracted incident.

"I’d also like to thank everyone involved in managing this incident, especially those who travelled from neighbouring fire and rescue services to assist us.”
