The mother of a two-year-old boy from Northamptonshire has launched a desperate appeal to find her son's Christmas present after it was stolen last week.

The hand-made replica Land Rover was bought as a joint birthday and Christmas present for toddler Brodie Finch-Barlow.

It was being stored in a unit in Castle Ashby ahead of the big day when thieves broke in and took it.

"The lock had been smashed off the container, and his jeep had been dragged out with some of our tools on it," mum Lorna Finch said.

"We bought it from a chappy who had built it for his kids over Daventry way last February knowing he was too small for it. But we were saving it for Christmas because his birthday is at the beginning of January.

"To have waited that long and now not be able to give it to him is devastating."
