Pair arrested in connection with 38-year-old murder of Carol Morgan have been bailed

Two people who were arrested yesterday in connection with a 38-year-old murder case in Leighton Buzzard have been released on bail.

A man and a woman aged 69 and 70 were arrested on suspicion of the murder of Carol Morgan.

Mrs Morgan’s body was found at Morgan’s Store in Finch Crescent, Linslade, on 13 August 1981. She was 36 years old at the time of her death.

Reports from the time of the murder suggested that she was killed with a meat cleaver and that bloody fingerprints were left at the scene.

Yesterday, the pair from Brighton were arrested and questioned. Police say they have now been bailed while investigations continue.

The officers are appealing for any information about the death of Carol Morgan and are urging people to get in touch with any detail, no matter how small.
