Helpline for victims of modern day slavery needs help itself

An urgent plea will be made later to help finance a charity helpline supporting victims of modern day slavery.

Unseen, whose call centre is based in Bedfordshire, needs 400 thousand pounds to continue the service. Its taken 15 thousand calls since its formation three years ago, and helped more than six thousand potential victims. The charity says the confidential, 24-7 helpline is a life-saving service with demand for it growing month on month.
