The Conservatives have secured a huge victory in Election 2019 in the Anglia region winning all but six constituencies.

The Tories were already dominant in the East of England winning 60 of the 69 seats in 2017 but they added a further three to their tally in Boris Johnson's snap General Election of 2019.

Labour lost two seats in Peterborough and Ipswich to the Conservatives but managed to cling onto Bedford by a tiny margin of just 145 votes.

The party has just five MPs in the Anglia region and saw its overall number at Westminster reduced to the lowest level since 1935.

The Conservatives also won the Liberal Democrat seat of North Norfolk but gained from the Tories, St Albans in Hertfordshire
