A rescued seal is being treated at East Winch Wildlife Centre

RSPCA rescued a seal in great distress who was caught up with netting around its neck at Winterton beach yesterday.

They say 'Carousel' wouldn't have lasted much longer with the wound she had. It is believed she would have soon died from either poisoning or malnutrition.

The East Winch Wildlife Centre acted as soon as possible to remove the netting.

  • Our Reporter Kate Prout wanted to see if 'Carousel' survived and visited her at the centre.

Carousel's body is full of toxins from the netting and the East Winch Wildlife Centre is treating her with antibiotics, painkillers and regular salt washes of the wound.
