Suffolk farmer raises £35,000 flying solo to Cape Town

A farmer from Suffolk has raised almost 35 thousand pounds flying solo from the UK to Cape Town.

Giles Abrey flew 7,200 miles across thirteen countries in a plane he built himself.

The money he's raised will go to The Institute of Cancer Research, Farm Africa and the local charity Gee Wizz - which helps children with disabilities and life-threatening conditions.

It took Giles 5 weeks to complete the journey, he had to battle both the elements and bureaucrats, including in Sudan where he has his passport confiscated and was told he was entering the country illegally.
