A man who burnt a woman with a cigarette during a seven-hour attack at a house in Luton has been jailed.
Police were called to Danniea Haque's home on Grove Road on 2 December where the attack had taken place.
Over the course of the previous seven hours, the 31-year-old had repeatedly attacked the victim, as well as throwing her mobile phone against a wall.
PC Jordan Lancaster, from Bedfordshire Police’s Emerald team, said: “This was a prolonged and vicious attack by Haque.
"He continued to physically assault the victim over a substantial period of time and also wreaked havoc by violently vandalising items of furniture within the flat.
“Behaviour of this kind is completely unacceptable and we are dedicated to ensuring violent offenders such as Haque are locked away."
On Friday 3 January Haque was jailed for one year and eight months after pleading guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage.
