MK Dons midfielder Alex Gilbey has been named the League One player of the month for December.
The 25-year-old scored three goals in six appearances as the Dons' form improved under new boss Russell Martin.
Gilbey saw off competition from AFC Wimbledon's Marcus Forss, Accrington Stanley midfielder Sean McConville and Gillingham defender Connor Ogilvie to win the award.
Gilbey is the first Dons player to win the prize since Dele Alli did it in January 2015.
“I’m over the moon to win the award and it’s a really proud moment for me," Gilbey said.
“I’m thankful, of course, to the staff and the rest of the team. In December, we performed really well and picked up some important results – now it’s time for all of us to build upon it now, win more games and climb the table.”
