A man from Bedford has been given a life sentence with a minimum of seven years after pouring flammable liquid over his partner and setting her alight.
Shaun Thomas, 48, attacked the woman during at around midnight on Friday, 22 February 2019.
With her clothes engulfed in flame, she ran outside where a neighbour helped to extinguish the fire.
Thomas' actions left her with burns to several parts of her body.
When they searched the property police found the key had been broken in the lock on the back door, along with a butane canister and a firework taped to it.
Thomas was found guilty by a jury in August and was sentenced on Friday, 7 February.
