Driver jailed for mowing down man in MK Dons car park

This is the moment a dangerous driver mowed down a man following an argument in the MK Dons stadium car park.

Thames Valley Police released the footage as 30-year-old Wayne Cooper, of The Hide, Netherfield, was jailed for 18 months and disqualified from driving for more than two and a half years.

He was found guilty of dangerous driving following a two-day trial at Aylesbury Crown Court.

The jury heard how the argument broke out just after midnight on Sunday December 28 2018 after one driver pulled in front of another in the car park at Stadium MK.

One of the men called his father for help - because he was concerned about what would happen next.

But when Cooper got back into his car, the other driver believed the incident was over.

Cooper appeared to begin driving out of the car park but suddenly turned to drive directly at other man's 51-year-old father, hitting him before leaving the car park.

The victim suffered severe bruising and grazing to his neck and a sore neck.

Cooper was arrested and later charged.

"This incident had the potential to cause very serious injuries to the victim, and had it not been for his swift actions of taking evasive action, the results of Cooper’s dangerous driving could have had even more serious consequences.

“Cooper displayed a total disregard for the victim and despite entering a not guilty plea, the jury thought otherwise and unanimously convicted him.

“Cooper’s actions were utterly deliberate and he did not stop after the incident, showing a total disregard for his victim."
