Ipswich Town thrashed by Women's FA Cup holders

There was no shock result for Ipswich Town as they were dispatched from the Women's FA Cup 5th Round by holders Manchester City.

The Blues - the lowest ranked team left in the competition - were 3-0 down at half-time but they were swept away by City after the break.

Three of City's players - Pauline Bremer, Georgia Stanway and Jess Park each scored hat-tricks, with Laura Coombs also getting on the scoresheet.

Ipswich are leaders of the National League Division One South-East - the fourth tier of English Football in the women's game.

But they couldn't contend with the Sky Blues who fielded a host of internationals in their starting line-up at City's Academy Stadium, including Norfolk striker Lauren Hemp.
