A Peterborough United player is self-isolating as a precaution after showing symptoms of coronavirus, Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony has revealed.

MacAnthony posted on Twitter that the player, who hasn't been named, is currently waiting results.

Posh were due to travel to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, but the EFL have now suspended all football until April 3 at the earliest.

MacAnthony has been vocal in his view that the season should be immediately suspended, and prior to Friday's morning's announcement, was keen for the game at Bolton to be called off.

Posh manager Darren Ferguson had also said on Thursday that games should be cancelled for the time being.

However, the EFL and Premier League said on Thursday evening that matches were due to take place as normal this weekend, but they then called emergency meetings after news broke that Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta had tested positive for the virus.
