Riot police, fire and ambulance crews called to property in Norwich

Riot police, fire and ambulance crews were called to a property in Norwich over concern for a person's safety.

A 35-year old man was later taken away by police after seven hours.

He has been arrested on suspicion of affray, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and criminal damage.

Police say the suspect locked himself inside a property alone, with a number of police resources needing to be deployed, including negotiators and Taser officers.

The incident was safely resolved and no-one was hurt.

"Police were called to an address in Jay Gardens, Bowthorpe, Norwich at approximately 6.05am this morning, (Monday 16 March) following a concern for safety. "
