A homeless man who left a hospital before being told that he had tested positive for Covid-19 is now making arrangements to return for treatment.
The man was tested at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital on Thursday.
A spokesman for the trust said on Friday: "Contact has been made with the patient who was already in isolation and arrangements are being made for him to come back for treatment."
NHS staff could not force the man to stay at hospital, but police will be able to detain and quarantine patients with coronavirus for up to six weeks under legislation announced this week.
The Coronavirus Bill, which is time-limited for two years, will be rushed through the Commons on Monday.
