Wells lifeboat crews helped rescue two people from a yacht which had become grounded.
The 28ft boat called the “Trouncer” ran into difficulties on Friday night. The sailors had tried to enter Wells Harbour but was too late on the tide and with the water ebbing took shelter in Holkham Bay, but eventually ran aground and began to sink.
The inshore lifeboat carried out the rescue. The crew of the yacht were both able to go to the lifeboat station and were offered shelter for the night. They were described as wet, cold and tired but otherwise unharmed.
The yacht was badly damaged.
