Milton Keynes man who almost died of coronavirus thanks NHS for saving his life

A father of two from Milton Keynes who almost died of coronavirus, has thanked NHS staff for saving his life.

Damion Brown, 38, is a keen gym-goer but was struck down with the virus earlier this month.

His condition worsened so much that he struggled to breathe, even with an oxygen mask, and at one point doctors feared he would have to put into an induced coma.

Thankfully, he's now turned the corner though, and although he's still isolating at Milton Keynes Hospital, he's getting stronger everyday.

"It's been a bit of a miracle," he said.

"I'd like to thank every single NHS staff member who are helping people like me, because they have saved my life."

His wife Cat described his time in hospital as the "hardest week of his life".

"It's been very difficult. As soon as he went into the intensive care unit, I lost contact with him," she told ITV News Anglia.

"It was just a very sad state of affairs. I have never felt this out of control and useless in my life."
