Man who spat at emergency services and said he had coronavirus has been charged

A man who spat at a police officer and said he had COVID-19 has been charged with assaulting an emergency work.

Jamie Edward Tidy, who is 30-years-old and has no fixed address, appeared at Northampton Magistrates Court today and was remanded into custody.

He was charged after the incident at the Criminal Justice Centre in Brackmills, Northampton where a man claimed to have coronavirus and spat at a Special Constable. He will next appear in court on Tuesday, June 9.
