It comes as the MP posted a video warning that distribution of PPE to NHS staff is taking too long to get all who need it, especially GPs and care homes.

'There's been a huge effort to get the PPE into the country and distributed, that distribution has taken a bit too long and some of the bits of the Norfolk healthcare system haven't yet had everything that they need. The hospitals say that they have enough for now, most GPs but not all."

Mr Freeman said he was working with companies to try and ensure supplies would get through.

He also said that the county was about to experience a peak in demand for services. He paid tribute to Norfolk County Council and hospitals throughout the county for their work in freeing up beds. He said around 60% of people who were in hospital have been able to be moved out into the community.

"We are I think in the end of phase one and we are about to go into the hardest phase of all in Norfolk, where more and more people start to come into our hospitals.
