A food kitchen for the homeless in Norwich wont be returning after the coronavirus pandemic ends.

The stalls in the Haymarket area were taken down to stop large crowds gathering.

The council says there's no plans to bring them back once the current lockdown measures have been relaxed.

It will work with other organisations to secure temporary accommodation and deliver food directly to them there

The expert medical guidance on social distancing issued to manage the coronavirus outbreak has highlighted the importance of best practice around food provision for the most vulnerable in our communities.

This is about making sure that we get food to people safely, rather than bringing people to food, and we are working positively with a number of groups involved in providing food in this way.
