More than £3,000 has been raised for the family of a paramedic being treated for coronavirus at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.

Jack Frost is a senior Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with the East of England Ambulance Service.

The dad-of-two is a former soldier and policeman, and moved into a Travelodge before catching the virus so he could continue to work.

"He's quite well known at the hospital and throughout the ambulance service because he's just got one of those personalities that you can't buy, so a lot of people already know who he is. "I think a lot of people were shocked when he went in initially but for him I think it will have been so strange to go from being the person who takes everyone in to being the person taken in."

A fundraiser has been set up on Facebook, to which over 170 people have donated so far.

Commenters have also sent messages of goodwill to the Frost family.

Chris Rigby said "Miss working with you Jack, get well soon!", and Colin Lansdell added "fight your hardest fight and come back to your family and workmates fit and well".
