Bedford Hospital have said a garden will be named after Captain Tom Moore on his 100th birthday as a tribute for the work he has done for the NHS during the pandemic.

The hospital said this is "a small gift from Bedfordshire Hospitals to pay tribute to such an inspirational figure".

The war veteran from Bedfordshire has so far raised £30m for NHS charities.

Outside the main offices of Bedford Hospital, there exists a garden which we will be restoring and renaming after you to commemorate your extraordinary fundraising walk. This new garden will be designed to offer tranquility to patients both today and for many years to come.
