A man from Bedford who was inspired by Captain Tom Moore to raise money for charity has run 100 miles in five days on his driveway.

Jonny Smith was meant to be running the London Marathon but instead he ran around wheelie bins.

He raised just over £3,400 pounds and says he was spurred on because of Captain Tom's story.

  • Jonny Smith says Captain Tom inspired him to run 100 miles to mark Tom's 100th Birthday last month.

"To celebrate his 100th Birthday which was incredible really, watching all the things on TV, I just thought 100 miles over a week, that will be easy, ha ha."

The money Jonny has raised will go to the charity 'Together for Short Lives'.

He ran an average of 19 miles a day on the same small circuit with his neighbours watching him and cheering him on.
