Teenager Shawn Tyson has been found guilty at Sarasota County Courthouse of the murders of British tourists James Cooper and James Kouzaris from Northampton, who were shot dead in the Florida city on April 16 last year.
Joe Hallett, a friend of James Kouzaris from Northampton and James Cooper has spoken in court about the loss of his friends.
He addressed Shawn Tyson directly. The 17-year-old was found guilty of shooting them dead and has been sentenced to life in prison.
Shawn Tyson was given two life sentences without the eligibility of parole at Sarasota County Court, where he was convicted of the murders of James Kouzaris and James Cooper in Florida in April 2011.

Joe Hallett, a friend of Mr Kouzaris and Mr Cooper read a statement to the court.
Addressing Tyson personally, he said: "It was through your deadly action that you have taken us all on a journey to hell during the last 12 months."
Mr Hallett said they were "two people who if you had given them a chance would have given you the time of day. They were two of the good guys in life. You pierced their hearts with bullets and you robbed my friends of their dignity, their freedom and their future."
