Events have been taking place across the region to mark Holocaust Memorial Day. This year is also the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.

A candle has been lit in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire to mark the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
70 candles in 70 locations across the UK, mark each year since the nazi-death camp was shut down.
More than one million people died there in the 5-years it operated between 1940 and 1945.
