A mother and her three children have had a lucky escape after their Milton Keynes home was targeted by arsonists. It was one of three arson attacks to take place in the space of a few hours.

Family lucky to be alive after a fire spread to their house

A mother from Milton Keynes says her three children are lucky to be alive after someone set fire to a car on their front drive in the middle of the night.

It was one of three suspected arson attacks in the Eaglestone area of the town overnight - they all happened within twenty minutes of each other - in the early hours of this morning.

Witnesses to a house fire in Milton Keynes have spoken of how shocked they were to see it go up in smoke.

The fire at a house in Eaglestone is being treated as an arson attack.

A mother and three children had a lucky escape from the fire which started in the early hours of today.

Two other fires are also being investigated in the nearby area, they all took place within 20 minutes of each other.

"I got woken up, felt heat, smoke, looked out of the window and it was just up in flames, flames as high as about 6 to 7 feet. I was in shock but my mind was set in putting the fire out."

A mother and her three children have had a lucky escape after their Milton Keynes home was targeted by arsonists.

Two other arson attacks on cars took place in the space of just a few hours.

Firefighters deal with number of arson attacks in Milton Keynes

Firefighters in Milton Keynes have dealt with three suspected arson attacks within twenty minutes of each other in the early hours of this morning.

One caused damage to a house where a woman and three children were sleeping.

Two cars and a lorry were set on fire in Eaglestone between 01:45am and 2:05am with one in Abbotsfield setting light to a property.

"Luckily before we arrived some neighbours of the lady and three children who were asleep had knocked on her door to raise the alarm and they were able to escape uninjured."
