Norfolk Police say despite 150 calls from the public there has still been no confirmed sightings of the men they're looking for.

They have also dismissed claims in the Sun newspaper that the RAF Marham kidnap suspects are hiding out near the base.

They set up a witness hotline after the attempted abduction of a serviceman a week and a half ago.

The victim, a man in his late 20s, managed to fight off the attackers. Police still want to hear from anyone who recognises them.

"I’m grateful to the public’s help so far and there is some promising information amongst these calls.

"Officers continue with the painstaking task of trawling CCTV. This process does take time but I’m confident this work will pay-off.

"Regarding the search for our suspects, we are not focusing on any specific area and I’m keeping an open mind as to where they are from.

"It’s evident the would-be attackers have underestimated the victim’s ability to fight back.

"Let me reiterate there is no credible evidence this is a terrorist incident, but that remains one of a number of possibilities.”

Essex Police have confirmed a sighting of two men at Colchester barracks is not linked to an investigation into a kidnap bid at RAF Marham.

Police were contacted shortly before 9am today, Friday July 29, with reports of a man seen in Layer Road Colchester who was thought to resemble the man depicted in the efit issued by Norfolk Constabulary in relation to the attempted abduction of a serviceman at RAF Marham.

Essex Police have been working with Norfolk Police who has confirmed that the sighting was not of the man in the efit.
