The Bacton club has been in the village for 79 years, but the Parish Council says it's repeatedly failed to comply with regulations.

Development Manager for the Norfolk Cricket Board, Keiron Tuck, says they are working with the Bacton club to find other venues for the rest of the season.

Cricket council claims it's been "misrepresented'

Bacton Parish Council in Norfolk says it has been misrepresented after the village cricket club said it had been evicted in a row over practising with a hard cricket ball.

In a statement on its website the council says it has not banned fielding and wicket keeping practice.

There is no restriction on using a cricket ball in matches or other types of cricket practice."

The statement continues: "The problems with the cricket club are of a completely different nature and have little to do with health and safety but everything to do with the failure of the club to co-operate with the parish council over a number of matters."
