Essex pair named in Twenty20 World Cup squad

Essex batsmen Alastair Cook and Ravi Bopara have been named in England's provisional 30-man squad for the ICC World Twenty20 in September:

Heartbreak as John Ruddy ruled out of European Championships

The FA have confirmed that Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy has broken his finger and has been ruled out of Euro 2012. The injury happened in training yesterday. Ruddy was assessed by the England medical staff and will not be able to be part of the tournament.

Ruddy will travel with the squad to Norway on Friday and watch the game on Saturday evening, but return to Norwich, after arriving back in England.Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland, who was previously on the standby list, will join up next week.
