The fire service was called just after 10.30pm to High Lode Industrial Estate in Stocking Fen Road. When crews arrived they found flames coming through the roof of an industrial unit used as a car bodyshop.

Residents in the surrounding areas were asked to keep their windows and doors closed while firefighters tackled the blaze. The flames were finally put out at 2.30am this morning.

Fire officers are conducting a fire investigation into the cause of the fire.

"This was a significant fire which was well established by the time crews arrived and excellent work by the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings."
