A Hurricane fighter plane is to go under the hammer as part of a special auction of historic vehicles.

The plane, the RAF's first monoplane fighter, had its finest hour during that battle, where it shot down more enemy aircraft than the Spitfire.

The aircraft, equipped with 12 Browning .303 machine guns, was flown by the Canadian airforce during the war. The aircraft is capable of a range of 900 miles and a maximum speed of 322mph. It is expected to fetch between £1.4 million - £1.7 million.
