Trial of man accused of killing mum begins

The trial of an Essex man accused of killing his mother is expected to begin today.

Peter Dickson, 37, is accused of murdering Carol Cooper, 66, at her home in Clacton last November.

Mrs Cooper's body was found by police at her home in St Vincent Road. A post mortem examination revealed she died from asphyxia.

Dickson also of St Vincent Road, was arrested soon after the discovery. He denies murder and is due to appear for trial at Chelmsford Crown Court.
