Artist's determination helps him overcome effects of stroke

An artist who completely lost the use of his right arm following a stroke is back painting again - after learning to use his left hand instead.

Ian Simms, from Eye near Peterborough, suffered a severe stroke in 2009 which affected his speech and mobility.

He was told he would never use his right arm again and thought his painting days were behind him.

But after spotting a watercolour class for beginners while on holiday last year, Ian's artwork is once again getting recognition.
