Police are at the scene of a serious crash which has closed part of the M1 in Bedfordshire.
Emergency crews were called at 6.46am following a collision involving a coach and a car between junction 12 and 13 of the northbound carriageway resulting in a number of serious injuries.
Drivers are being taken off the motorway at Junction 12 and will find diversion signs that direct them through Westoning, Flitwick, Steppingley and on to the A507. They are then signposted to Ridgmont and back to Junction 13.
The northbound carriageway only has been closed for a full collision investigation and diversions are being established. Motorists are advised that these diversions are likely to be in place for most of the day and to plan alternative routes.
