The first Sunday service has taken place at a new multi-million pound church and community hub which has opened in Cambridge.

The 4 and a half million pound Christian church also known as the C3 centre is the first purpose built venue owned by the Cambridge Community Church.

As well as a church it's designed to be a venue for community groups across the city as well being the base for a food bank.

"It's been a long term goal most certainly here in the city to have this centre and the church has still gradually been growing, partly because of our engagement with the community. In some places across the country it would be true the church is declining, but not everywhere and that certainly hasn't been true for us. We think it's because of our engagement with the community, we're seeking to serve the city."
